"Israel kills, but it does not defend itself"
In the extermination war it is conducting on Gaza, Israel is allegedly defending itself, according to some Zionist, American, and European pronouncements. Going back to international law, however, and depending on it, Israel does not have the right to self-defense, and anyone arguing that Israel is defending itself is not making an argument based on the law but rather on political prejudice against Israel.
As an occupying state, Israel is unable to declare war on Gaza on the grounds of self-defense or any other justification, as occupation is not recognised by international law as a valid means of establishing a state. Conversely, peoples under occupation have the complete and unrestricted right under international law to defend themselves and choose their own course of action.
Even in the unlikely event that Israel's actions qualify as self-defense, which is, as we have stated, not legally applicable to the war, what Israel is doing is illegal under international law and constitutes both war crimes and genocide. These crimes include killing civilians, targeting civilian homes, and deliberately destroying infrastructure, service institutions, hospitals, schools, universities, and a host of other establishments. Additionally, they waged a starvation war on the people living in the area, which led to the martyrdom of numerous elderly and children.
It is not acceptable to target civilians or break any international law while acting in self-defense. You cannot commit any crime under the guise of self-defense.
