How was the Nakba anniversary observed in Gaza?

Every year on May 15th, Palestinians remember the Nakba—the ongoing suffering that the people of Palestine endured in public view across time and geography. As the Palestinian people are living through a Nakba that started with the British-Zionist colonization, the adage "Gazans are living a second Nakba" has become far from accurate. The Nakba has persisted ever since and has not halted.

But how did our Palestinian people in Gaza celebrate the anniversary of the Nakba?

The Zionist occupation committed the worst and most horrifying acts of genocidal crimes in contemporary history at the same time as this year's Nakba anniversary. This criminal occupation continues the Zionist practices that started 76 years ago, and the ruthlessness of their actions grows every year and every day.

Plans for forced relocation and other measures that make life for Palestinians on their land impossible have been observed for 76 years, forcing people to flee their country.

Seventy-six years of bloodshed, killing, and uprooting.

This Nazi occupation of Palestine has persisted in killing Palestinians for 76 years, carrying out unfathomable massacres and waging a bloody starvation war that mostly targets women, children, and the elderly. Nowadays, hunger, gun violence, and explosions are killing Gazans.

76 years of unfair arrests that have impacted people of all ages without regard to their age.

Palestinians have been forced to live in tents for 76 years. This year, the criminal Zionist occupation attacked the tents and detonated bombs above the heads of the occupants.

As the conflict on Gaza has shown, Palestinians have been denied their most basic rights and exposed to all types of tyranny for 76 years. The rights of Palestinians to food, safety, education, and life have all been violated.

The Israeli occupation has ignored all military regulations, international humanitarian law, and international norms and principles for seventy-six years.
