Gaza doesn't seek your sympathy; it seeks your support.
According to an Israeli survey, there is widespread support for the Palestinian cause worldwide, particularly in Gaza, which has been under siege since 2008 as a result of the ongoing conflict. This support, however, stands in contrast to the minority of those who find it endearing.
Only 5% of protests globally favor Israel, while 95% support the Palestinians, according to the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies. But these figures are insufficient to enable the Palestinians to stop the Israeli army's savage attacks, nor do they stop the ongoing conflict and the unrelenting bloodshed caused by the Israeli machinery that has killed countless innocent people over the years, the most recent of which took place in October and November of this year, 2023. These victims include women, elderly people, and children.
According to the most recent figures issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Tuesday, November 13, there have been 11,320 fatalities in Gaza since the hostilities started, including 3,145 women and 4,650 children. almost 4,000 people are missing and 33,000 people have been injured, with children accounting for almost 70% of the total. In addition, almost 30,000 individuals have sustained injuries. The unidentified dead, thought to number in the thousands, are not included in the data provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health.
More than 42,000 housing units have been destroyed and more than 223,000 other units have been damaged by Israeli attacks, according to a report released by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Tuesday, November of this year. The report cited data from the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing. According to the office, damage or destruction has affected at least 60% of Gaza's residential units.
According to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 279 educational facilities—or more than 51% of all educational facilities—were damaged, including 61 schools that were forced to close. Thus, since the start of the onslaught, not a single one of Gaza's 625,000 pupils has been able to take advantage of educational services.
The office also stated that 53 ambulances have been destroyed, and over half of Gaza's hospitals and almost two-thirds of primary healthcare facilities are currently out of commission. All thirteen hospitals in the city of Gaza and the northern Gaza Strip—a total of twenty-five—as well as fifty-two health centers that have been rendered inoperable as a result of Israeli aggression have been ordered to evacuate by the Israeli army.
198 medical professionals have lost their lives as a result of Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip. In addition to targeting three churches, the number of mosques destroyed has reached 72 fully destroyed and 156 partially destroyed. It was mentioned that the direct losses to agriculture as a result of this continuous onslaught are estimated to be $180 million. A total of 45,000 dunams, or more than 25% of agricultural land, were destroyed and taken during the occupation. Thousands of fruit-bearing trees were also destroyed, along with entire livestock, poultry, and fish farm herds.
These statistics suggest that the 95% of people who support the Palestinian cause need to do more than that. They are asked to put pressure on the governments of their countries, which back the Israeli army, to put an end to the aggression as soon as possible.
There are a number of ways to apply pressure, such as holding sit-ins in front of the parliament and government buildings, starting an online campaign calling for an end to all wars and the systematic murder of Palestinians, and supporting the return of Palestinian lands that were taken over by Israel in 1967. Additionally, since every purchase you make helps to end the lives of Palestinian children, it is imperative that you boycott goods from businesses that support the Israeli army.
