"The architectural damage in Gaza"

Eradicating the Palestinian presence from its foundation is the aim of the military campaign that the occupation is conducting in the Gaza Strip. Not only does the occupation intentionally seek to completely destroy the location, but it also targets humankind in its genocidal campaign.

Israel demolished 106,000 residential buildings outright and partially damaged 250,900 residential buildings with tens of thousands of bombs dropped on them. In addition, it demolished 1,75 media headquarters, 620 mosques, three churches, 279 health facilities, 2,120 industrial buildings, and 432 schools. By attacking the infrastructure that supports all essential city functions, Israel committed a localized genocide with the intention of erasing identity, displacing people, and rendering the Gaza Strip an unacceptable place to live. Since more than 70% of Gaza's structure is made of rubble, not a single street was spared from destruction. Gaza has earned the moniker "city of rubble."

From the start of the bombing, the occupation concentrated on destroying the residents' memory of Gaza by destroying its iconic monuments. The Israeli soldiers excavated burial sites and inscribed highly offensive phrases on the walls of the residences where they were positioned. All of this contributed to the heightened feelings of animosity that people had against their ancestral homes because the occupation robbed them of their memories. Memories of the beach where they sat with their friends laughing, surrounded today by tents, waste, and sewage water, and of their universities that were devastated, the neighborhood shop, mosques, and churches.
