The Al-Shifa Hospital has become a battlefield
For more than two weeks, occupation forces besieged Al-Shifa Medical Hospital, committing the greatest and most heinous crimes against humanity—killing, raping, and starvation—in full view and audible communication with the outside world.
In a testimonial that broadcast on Al Jazeera, Jameela Al-Hassi depicts the anguish of people encircled inside Al-Shifa Hospital, saying, "The hospital is a battlefield akin to hell." She added that in addition to slaughtering and setting entire families on fire, the occupation army sexually assaulted women before murdering them. Jameela continued, "The occupation army completely deprived the besieged of food and water."
Around 400 victims were killed by the occupation during the two-week siege of Al-Shifa Hospital, according to civil defense. One martyr was discovered with his hands bound and was killed by a straight bullet to the head by occupying forces. Skeletal remains were torched, and the majority of the victims had decomposed.
The accounts given by survivors of the Al-Shifa massacre were, to put it mildly, horrifying. They referred to those days as the hardest of the battle. It was reported by one of them, "They sniped at us one by one." "One of them was executed with his head and his blood flowing on me."
Someone else remarked, "My father watched with a faint voice and told me if you can escape, run, my son." The doctors' testimony includes the claim that they had to drink medical remedies in order to survive.
Some injured patients had to travel the Gaza Valley Bridge from Al-Shifa Hospital in their underwear.
After more than two weeks of horrors in Al-Shifa Hospital and the surrounding area, the occupation withdrew, leaving behind massacres that history will never forget and that will live on in the memories of every Arab and Palestinian.
