Targeting Shelter Centers
The reverse is true; the Israeli occupation does not conduct any crimes haphazardly or without a purpose. Its systematic crimes are all intended to depopulate and render the Gaza Strip untenable. Targeting shelters where displaced individuals have sought safety from the brutality of this attack and the ongoing crimes of the occupation is one of these crimes.
Targeting shelter centers scatters Palestinian families and separates individuals from one another, exacerbating their psychological suffering, particularly for children who have been separated from their mothers. The targeting of shelter centers is a core part of Israel's strategy to dismantle the social fabric of Palestinians in Gaza, further weakening the population both psychologically and physically, while eradicating communal spaces that could provide even minimal psychological and social support. Additionally, the targeting of these centers negatively impacts families’ and individuals' access to humanitarian aid, as many shelters serve as distribution points for charitable aid. When forced to flee to other locations, displaced people may find themselves in areas with no access to already limited humanitarian aid, further worsening the humanitarian crisis and intensifying the suffering of the population.
Since the beginning of the aggression, the vast majority of Gaza's inhabitants have experienced at least three displacements. Israel bombs, evacuates, or launches raids and attacks on displaced persons after they have taken refuge in shelters, forcing them to relocate once more.
Significant turmoil, disruption, and a stop to vital and humanitarian services have resulted from the Israeli army's evacuation of shelters inhabited by displaced persons. There is now nothing secure in the entire Gaza Strip since it has essentially destroyed all safe areas. Any and all international laws, rules, and legislation are broken by this.
