Targeting 16 schools in one month!

Israel keeps implementing methodical measures to render the Gaza Strip completely uninhabitable. One of the most well-known examples of these practices is the sudden and unannounced bombing of schools in Gaza that house civilians who have been forcibly relocated, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries. This is a part of the genocide that has been going on since October 7th.

The Israeli occupation forces have reportedly attacked 16 schools in the Gaza Strip that are being used as shelters since the beginning of August, 15 of which are located north of Wadi Gaza, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor. 217 Palestinians were killed and hundreds more were injured as a result of these attacks; majority of the injured were women and children. There is no justification for destroying and attacking schools that provide refuge to displaced civilians. It is a flagrant transgression of the duty to exercise appropriate prudence, military necessity, proportionality, and distinction. The Israeli army makes repeated attempts to defend these assaults by claiming that they are targeting military targets, but they never offer any supporting documentation for this assertion.

As per the Israeli daily *Yedioth Ahronoth*, the Israeli army is presently mulling over possibilities to drive out and relocate the remaining Palestinians in northern Wadi Gaza under the "Generals' Plan." The fact that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to carry out a fourth phase of his bloody war, which will drive out the population from northern Gaza, along with his discussions with the army, suggests that the plan for forced displacement that Israeli forces have been carrying out since the beginning of the war—which is currently in its eleventh consecutive month—remains in place. This is taking place in the lack of a meaningful international reaction to stop the genocidal eradication of the Palestinian people.

Since October 7, the Gaza Strip has been subjected to an insane bombardment that is nothing more than a deliberate policy intended to target Palestinian civilians there by denying them access to temporary stability or shelter, forcing them to flee repeatedly, and forcing them to live in hazardous conditions. The massacres have continued, and the people of Gaza are currently living through an unprecedented and unparalleled public slaughter. Many European nations, the United States, and the international community, which has consistently failed the Palestinian people, are all complicit in the crimes being committed against them.
