"Half a year of war on Gaza"
After six months of an outright extermination attack on Gaza, thousands of people went missing beneath the debris and over 41,000 people lost their lives, according to the Mediterranean Observatory. The whole Strip's supply of basic necessities for survival had completely collapsed.
The enormous amount of devastation demonstrates the occupation's systematic policy of destruction against the Gaza Strip, which fits into an explicit Israeli plan to render Gaza uninhabitable as a form of collective retaliation against the Palestinian population there and to force them to leave. The Mediterranean Observatory reports that around 41,000 people were killed, including 136 journalists and 869 medical personnel. In addition, there were around 77,000 injured Palestinians and 2 million displaced people. More than 70% of the residences, assets, and facilities owned by individuals and civilian organizations—269,700 dwelling units—were destroyed. This demonstrates that the Israeli bombing is an act of indiscriminate retaliation. Also, 301 health facilities, 443 schools, 200 archaeological sites, and 647 mosques were damaged.
The goal of the occupation is to demolish the majority of the sector's structures and destroy essential infrastructure since, according to a UN report, it might take decades to reconstruct Gaza's economy. Based on estimates from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Gaza's GDP may take seventy years to recover by 2022.
Over six months have passed, and the genocide still goes on. Over six months of conflict, anguish, and sorrow. The Israeli occupation has been attempting to eliminate the industry from its roots for more than half a year. After more than six months, the occupation is still destroying everything, but even if it is successful, it hasn't and won't be able to crush this wonderful people's will.
